Under A Warrior’s Protection

The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?

 The 27th Psalm provides for us a sense of encouragement and confidence for the journey of life. In this wonderful Psalm is the celebration of a warrior’s protection through the challenges of everyday life and in the heat of the battle. The warrior is the Lord, the battle is good over evil, and the promise is victory.

There are times when the wicked will advance against us, but due to God’s protection, they will stumble and fall. There are times when huge  organized power structures will deny us peace of mind and fear will creep into our hearts, but due to the presence and power of the ultimate warrior, confidence will abide.

Trouble will come into our lives at some time on our journey, but our faith tells us our ultimate warrior will keep us safe in his dwelling and hide us in the shelter of his sacred tent and set us high upon the rock of his love.

Therefore, we have much for which to praise God, much to sing about, and much to be confident about as we wait on and have faith in the greatest warrior of all time.

God, teach me to wait, hope and trust, knowing that you are fighting my battle with me and you will see me through to victory. Amen
