WEEKLY DEVOTION – SEPTEMBER 27, 2020
“More Than A Conqueror”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loves us.”
Romans 8:37
What a blessing it is to be a true winner! This is the sense of the writings in the 8th chapter of Romans as the Apostle Paul speaks words of encouragement to the Christians of Rome with hope and assurance. Life in the Spirit is the outcome of the new life with Christ. There is no condemnation for the follower of Jesus Christ, no living with false guilt trips, or being intimidated by the judgment of others. But rather with a newfound freedom to grow in grace and succeed at the life of devotion in the name of Christ. The good news is that what the law could not do, God has done through the redeeming work of Christ on Calvary. We are free, we are forgiven, and we are empowered by the Spirit of God.
Therefore we do not live any longer by the dictates or limitations of the fleshly carnal urgings, but by the Spirit of life and peace. We are in control of our decisions and can determine the outcomes of our actions. Through Christ a life of victory is promised. This new life is built on a love that will not let us go, turn on us or let us down. We are more than conquerors.
Dear God, thank you for a life of love, freedom and spiritual victory.
Amen
