“Giving Grateful Praise”
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
The call to worship in the 100th Psalm recorded in the Old Testament is a classic tool for worshipping believers. It provides an excellent opportunity for expressing gratitude for life and for the blessings of life.
This Psalm invites us to acknowledge our creator and the origin of our most blessed experiences of life, by calling us to remember from whence we have come, and knowing, that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Based upon the knowledge of a faith that secures our outlook and perspectives on life, we are to, enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; and give thanks to him and praise his name.
Why should we do this? Why should we take time to worship and to give thanks? For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Dear Lord, we worship thee and thank thee for the love you have shown us in so many ways. We are grateful. Amen
