WEEKLY DEVOTION – NOVEMBER 22, 2020
“A Time to Be Thankful”
The Psalmist in Psalm 136 provides for us an example of the posture to adopt for the times in which we live. As we reflect upon the God we serve, we cannot help but sing in unison of God’s greatness and majesty.
It so easy to complain and to express negative thoughts when we suffer, are troubled, are challenged or outside our comfort zones. But it is much better to learn the discipline praise and to exhibit an attitude of gratitude in response to the realities of life. The Psalmist helps us with a starting point by expressing thanks to God our creator.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. What wonder, what understanding, what delivering power, what redeeming love, for his love endures forever! Let us be thankful.
Dear Lord, thank you for being you and loving me so faithfully. I praise your holy name. Amen
